Specifically, it sheds light on how the things we feed our minds, bodies, and souls can help us reach our goals or keep us from them. ⁠

My favorite takeaway from a recent episode revolves around the DAMAGE we do to our health when we feel unsafe. ⁠

For example: if you are in an argument with your spouse and you feel cornered, or if you work in an environment where you feel threatened. Your body’s “fight or flight” response kicks in. However, there are things you can do to make yourself FEEL SAFE in these situations so your health doesn’t take a hit. ⁠

The trick is to make yourself FEEL COMFORTABLE…Today’s episode dives into the different ways in which you can do that. ⁠

It’s funny. ⁠

While listening, I realized some of the tricks mentioned are ones I used when I was interviewing people for the news. ⁠

Many people were worried about how they look or sound. Or, felt uncomfortable with the whole process of being interviewed by a stranger for TV.⁠

So, once we were in their house, I’d ask them:

  • “Where do you spend the most time?
  • What’s your favorite chair?
  • Where do you feel the most comfortable?”

And, meet them in their zone of comfort before starting the interview. ⁠

That always led to the best soundbites! ⁠

But, I never made the correlation to overall health and wellness, in addition to how these situations may have been affecting my personal health. #mindblown. ⁠

So the next time I’m feeling stressed out, scared or cornered, I’m going to try and take a step back and recognize that what I’m really feeling is a lack of safety. And, instead of lashing out or taking something personally, I can instead ask myself: “How can I make myself more comfortable in this situation?” And then, do it! ⁠
